How many licenses do I need / what type of license do I need?

Three different license types are available for each of the GdPicture.NET editions and plugins:

a) per-developer license (1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 developers)
This license type entitles 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 developers and/or build machine, of the same organization at a single physical address to write software with access to GdPicture.NET.

b) site license
This license type entitles an unlimited number of developers of the same organization at a single physical address to write software with access to GdPicture.NET.

c) worldwide license
This license entitles an unlimited number of developers of the same organization at an unlimited number of physical addresses to write software with access to GdPicture.NET.

Use of the Software requires one license for each developer and user within your organization who will launch the compilation process of any application linking GdPicture.NET. For example, if your organization has 3 developers, 2 of which will work directly with GdPicture toolkit and another 1 will not work directly with the toolkit but he will nevertheless launch the compilation process of the project(s) including our product, you will need to purchase 2 + 1 = 3 licenses.

Licenses are non-transferable between developers. Therefore, if a company has “x” developers who will use the Software, the company requires “x” licenses, purchased according to paragraph 4.1. above. The same provision applies if, for example, the developers will not be working with the Software at the same time.

How can I upgrade to another configuration (same major version)?

You can upgrade to another configuration from the same major (ie, current) version and get an upgrade discount worth 80% of the already paid amount.
In order to receive your discount coupon, you have to create a Sales ticket and attach the invoice(s) of your initial purchase.

I need an ActiveX toolkit. Which GdPicture.NET toolkit should I buy?

Each and every feature available for both .NET toolkits and plugins have an ActiveX equivalent.
Please check the Comparison Matrix to view how different features are bundled into different GdPicture.NET Editions.
To find out more about Com/ActiveX support in GdPicture.NET , please visit the dedicated page on our website.
You might also be interested to understand how our plugins work.

Am I allowed to use your toolkit in order to build a SDK?

No, you cannot.
Our EULA is very strict and clear on this matter :
5.2. GdPicture.NET may not be used to develop software toolkits, API, libraries, components, command line software or any kind of third party software, except as authorized in writing by a duly authorized officer of ORPALIS.

Where can I find your upgrade policies?

All GdPicture softwares come with 6 months free upgrade protection for major releases and free upgrade for any minor and medium upgrade. The upgrade protection concerns toolkit Editions and plugins.

The free upgrade license for the Ultimate edition unlocks all the features included in the toolkit as well as the plugins which were included in the previous Ultimate major version but will not unlock new plugins being released simultaneously with the latest major version or later. Therefore, if required, such plugins licenses will have to be purchased separately.

If the free upgrade is not appliable (ie, the 6 months protection duration was exceeded) normal software upgrade fee is 60% of current price for a one major version upgrade and 75% of current price for a two major version upgrade.
In other words, one major version upgrade entitles you to a 40% off discount on the price of the latest major version released and a two-major-version upgrade entitles you to a 25% off discount on the price of the latest major version released.

The one-major-version upgrade prices provided by us on the price list page of our website are already discounted prices

“One major version upgrade” means upgrading from version “n-1″ to version “n” (“n” being the currently released major version).
“Two major versions upgrade” means upgrading from version “n-2″ to version “n” (“n” being the currently released major version).

You can find out more about our Policies by visiting the Policies page of our website.
