Could not detect barcode when scan resolution < 250dpi

Post by lamvsos » Mon Sep 10, 2012 12:37 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm using GDPicture 9.0 and my business is scanning an image into system via scanner and detect barcode automatically on that image if it has. But the problem is barcode of image COULD NOT be detected if scan resolution is 100 - 150 dpi ( it works well at 250 - 1000 dpi ).

I tried again with very quality image ( printing resolution is 1200 dpi ) but the result is same as above.

*** Note :
1. When importing images from file, barcode always be detected well ( it is not affect by scan resolution )

Could you please let me know how could i detect barcode when scan resolution is at 100 - 150 dpi ?

Every helps are welcome.

Hello,

We suggest a resolution between 200 and 300 DPI to get the better accuracy. In case you have lower resolution image, you can to to scale them before running the detection process. Just have a look on the ScaleImage() method of the GdPictureImaging class for such purpose.

With best regards,

Loïc
