I would like to compress gif and jpg images for the web so the image file size is smaller while keeping the image dimensions and clarity. Can this be done using GdPicture? I checked the documentation and couldn't find a method to achieve this.

No replies? I don't think there's enough support to pursue this product any further.

Hello,

Sorry for the excessive delay, GIF document format is already compressed by definition (using LZW) and the same applies to JPEG document format.
There is not much you can do on GIF but you can always recompress JPEG documents by changing the compression factor (usually it is around 75) but lower compression factor means lower image quality, it is acceptable when the original compression factor is very high (for instance 90 or even 100) but low compression factor results in poor visual quality.
Changing the compression factor for JPEG images can be done using the JPEG saving method documented here: https://www.gdpicture.com/guides/gdpicture/html/GdPict ... nt32).html
