Manipulating pages in a document?

Post by kmartin » Sat Aug 01, 2015 7:09 pm

Can DocuVieware do any of the page manipulation that http://html5.snowbound.com does?

1. Can pages be moved via DocuVieware by dragging on the thumbnail?

2. Can pages be added to an opened document via DocuVieware by clicking on an upload button and selecting a document on a clients computer?

3. Can pages be added to an opened document via scanner attached to the clients computer like leadtools can?

http://www.leadtools.com/whitepapers/20 ... dtools.pdf
https://www.leadtools.com/sdk/twain/htm ... anning.htm

4. Can pages be selected then something clicked on like a thumbnail context menu that could trigger server side code to be called that can capture the document identifier and the selected pages. This would be used for copy pages that would store the document identifier and pages in the users session that could be used to be pasted into another opened DocuVieware instance tab by hopefully right clicking on a thumbnail and selecting pasted before or after the selected thumbnail page.

Hello Kevin,

Regarding this topic, the Technical Team has sent you a complete answer through our Helpdesk. I'll copy the answers here to inform our visitors. This can help some other DocuVieware's users.
Can DocuVieware do any of the page manipulation that http://html5.snowbound.com does?
If by page manipulation you mean page navigation, then yes, DocuVieware provides all possibile page navigation means (continous, thumbnail based, page-number based, etc).
Can pages be moved via DocuVieware by dragging on the thumbnail?
This feature will be implemented soon but please note : DocuVieware is a HTML5-Viewer and all current features are examples to demonstrate its power and convenience (from both client- and server-side points of view).
But your DocuVieware-based apps. can be extended to do literally anything you need by your own development team using GdPicture.NET SDK Ultimate SDK (whose binaries are physically and commercially bundled as development licenses, too).
Because both GdPicture.NET and DocuVieware are toolkits for developersso they can turn them into whatever they need.
Can pages be added to an opened document via DocuVieware by clicking on an upload button and selecting a document on a clients computer?
This is possible through custom actions. Other mechanisms will be available in a future release to simplify this process.
Can pages be added to an opened document via scanner attached to the clients computer like leadtools can?
Scanner control is currently under development and will be available soon.
Not at the current version but please see the answer A1 at your question Q1.

Finally, let us make clear again that any of the mentioned features belong to toolkits, meaning they can be added programatically by developers via GdPicture.NET SDK with which DocuVieware binaries and licences are bundled. You can introduce whatever document handling or document management features like OCR, barcodes, check-codes, full PDF support but the list is simply too long to enumerate.

Here is the website for GdPicture.NET; each and all of the features listed there can be implemented as web-apps via DocuVieware : https://www.gdpicture.com/

You can test the current DocuVieware version live, via our online demo dedicated website: http://docuvieware-demo.com/

Should you have more questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind regards,

Caroline Tellier
