ASP.NET MVC PDF Annotations <-> server

Post by marksacats » Wed Aug 31, 2016 12:01 am

I'm trying out the PDF functionality in the DocuViewareLiteGalleryMVC project.

I can see how to load a PDF into the viewer. That viewer also allows me to add comments. But when I save, it simply spits out the annotated PDF to the browser as a file to download.

Is there any way for me to hook this on the server?

1) We would like to store the annotations in the database
2) We would like to load and store the annotations separate from the PDF file itself, if possible

Thanks for any help

Hello,

I think there is a misunderstanding here, DocuVieware Lite is just a viewer, and unlike full blown DocuVieware, it does not support annotations nor document saving.
Annotating and save the annotations appart from the annotated document is very easy to implement but it cannot be done using DocuVieware Lite.
Here is the comparison table between the two versions: http://www.docuvieware.com/guides/aspne ... 0Lite.html

The demo in question uses the Docuvieware control.

The actual answer is to add a custom action, and call e.docuvieware.SaveAnnotations in the custom action handler

That cannot be done with DocuVieware Lite as the Custom Actions are only supported in the full DocuVieware version.
