GdViewer-COM-Objekt in Visual FoxPro

Post by DMI » Wed Jun 26, 2019 12:48 pm

Hi,
After updating GdPicture.NET 14.1.23 to GdPicture.NET 14.1.25 we noticed that the GdViewer COM object had to be recreated in Visual FoxPro.
Therefore, all the properties and methods must be reprogrammed.
Will this issue be resolved in a future release?

Hello,

Unfortunately we had to regenerate class identifiers to be able to offer new backward / forward compatibility model with the COM version (see change log).
This will offer a better deployment experience for any subsequent versions and will ensure that you application will still run if another application is updating the GdPicture version of the system.

Please let us know if you need further information or clarification.

With best regards,

Loïc

Hi,
Thank you for your quick response.
since we have to update the programs manually with our customers, we decided to update GdPicture.NET only at the jump to the new main version 15.

The question: can you tell us when about new major version 15 is coming?

With best regards,
Andreas Schulert

Hi,

From version 14, instead of releasing major versions once a year, all functionalities in development will be published in a continuous integration model.
Please find more details about this model here: Continuous Integration and Delivery model
So now it does not seems there will be version 15 soon.
