Re: Converting multipage PDF to CCITT4 TIFF
Would it be possible to have an API for directly converting a PDF to a multi-page tiff? As it stands now, the performance slows down drastically when the number of pages increases.

Re: Creating Multipage TIFF using JPEG Compression
After some study of the JPEG and TIFF formats, we believe that support for tags: 37679, 37680 and 37681 can be provided partly. The key are the tags: JPEGInterchangeFormat JPEGInterchangeFormatLength Given these, it would be possible to read the JPEG stream and dump it as a separate JPEG file which ...

Re: Creating Multipage TIFF using JPEG Compression
BTW, is JPEG2000 writing support disabled for multipage tiffs in the ActiveX edition? We are unable to see this option in TiffSaveMultipagetoFile.

Re: Creating Multipage TIFF using JPEG Compression
I understand Loic. The problem arises when we have the tags 37679,37670 and 37671 which are specific to Microsoft Document Imaging. However, a number of our customers do use Microsoft Document Imaging for scanning documents and then uploading the same. Is there any planned support for these non-stan...

Re: OJPEG Compression for Decoding.
I can provide a sample TIFF - other tiff utilities show its compression type as 6 (Old JPEG in TIFF?). This can be opened in Microsoft Document Imaging, Kodak, Kofax but not in GD PIC PRO 5.12.8 (ActiveX version) or Fax and Image viewer.

Re: Creating Multipage TIFF using JPEG Compression
We are using the ActiveX edition of the SDK (5.12.8) and no luck in opening/reading tiffs compressed with the old JPEG format. I am not sure how much dependence is there on using GDIPLUS.DLL. Unfortunately, Microsoft has almost effectively killed JPEG support inside this and if there is much depende...

Re: HP 3770 Twain Driver compatibility
Hi Loic, The code posted by Senthil (our team member) is what we use to support both ADF and non-ADF scanners. This works fine for most scanners, however, this fails for the HP 3770 scanner. What we noticed is that when installing HP 3770 on XP, 2 drivers get installed (HP TWAIN and WIA) (on Windows...

HP 3770 Twain Driver compatibility
Hi Loic,
Any idea if HP 3770's twain drive is fully compatible/tested? We are using GD Picture Pro 5.x for scanning an image and get a "originals have been removed" message. Note that same code works fine with HP 305x series.

Re: Scanner issue on Vista with ActivexControl
Thank you Loic. As you mentioned in this thread earlier: https://www.gdpicture.com/forum/vista-and-signed-ocx-t619.html , there was an issue with Gdtwain and you had recommended to update GDTWAIN.DLL from here: https://www.gdpicture.com/ressources/ocx/ This link no longer works - is there a way we c...

Scanner issue on Vista with ActivexControl
Hi Loic, WE are building an application using GD PIcture Pro 3.8.1. (Yes, we know it's obsolete, but...). It works fine on XP/2000. On vista, IE7 gets closed when invoking the scan function. All other functionalities work just fine. The application is actually an ActivexControl which is embedded in ...

Much like andrew and rrefin, we are also interested in this feature. Any idea if 5.6.13 has implemented this?

Re: SaveasTiffJPG
Thanks Loic. However, the issue is that Imaging for Windows on XP SP 2 (from eiStream) can actually open the image after it has been saved using Imagistix Image viewer. I used Imagistix to just open and save the image as a TIFF file. Here's the complete sequence: (a) Take an uncompressed image and s...
