DigiSign and Fast Web View

Post by jloizagah » Tue Jan 08, 2013 4:57 pm

Hi. Happy new year.

I'm trying to digitally sign a PDF with Fast Web View activated, using the DigiSign method, but when I saw the document properties of the signed PDF, fast Web View is deactivated.

Is there a way to digitally sign a PDF with fast web view?.

Best regards.

Hello,

Happy new year to you :)

I don't think it is possible to get both digital signature and fast web view enabled. That said, I am maybe wrong. Our staff is investigating about this question and we will get back to you as soon as we can with more information.

With best regards,

Loïc

First investigations with Adobe products raised to the conclusion that it is totally impossible.

Here a thread from the Adobe community forum that provide further explanations: http://forums.adobe.com/message/1906452 ... =0#1906452

Hi Löic.

Best regards.

I'v read a bit about it and the main reason to avoid Fast Web View in signed PDF's is that you can't verify integrity of the PDF file until the complete file has been downloaded, so it has no sense to present a PDF that could have been modified.

Nevertheles, thanks, Loïc.

Hello,

We continued our investigations about this scenario and we have some hints. I think it can be cool to have signed & linearized documents. Especially to cross check that the document have been correctly transferred. Maybe we will provide a solution but I have to put in in low priority on our research & development plans since it is not a common case :)

Cheers!

Hello,

We've found and implemented a solution for such case. The next minor release will permit such PDF generation.

With best regards,

Loïc
