TwainSetImageLayout: Small images

Post by ctn » Tue Feb 24, 2009 1:59 pm

Hi

I could not set the image layout with the following parameters:

_gdTwain.TwainSetImageLayout(5.1,0.366666666666667,6.73333333333333,0.7);

The return value of this function is false, TwainGetLastConditionCode = TWCC_BADVALUE and TwainGetLastResultCode = TWRC_FAILURE.

It seems that the parameters are out of range. But why? Since the ranges of the A4 format are left=0, top=0, right=8.26, bottom=11.69 (inches).

Could you please investigate?
Thank you

Hi,

I've tested your parameters with success using my scanners.

Your scan seems to be unable to apply these values.

Best regards,

Loïc

Is there a way to query the minimal scanning area?

Within the TWAIN spec i found following capability to be queried
ICAP_MINIMUMHEIGHT that can be queried. Is GdTwain supporting it?

Just a note:

The experience showed that most of the scanners have a minimal scan area of 1x1 inch.
For example the Plustek OpticSlim 500 does not allow a scan are to be set on the 4th quarted of the available scan area. This means that the left upper point value must be smaller than (maxphysicalwidth /2) and (maxphysicalheight /2)

Is there a possibility to query such a limitation of the scanner?
