pdf to multipage tiff - maintain resolution

Post by sbarlow » Fri Jun 19, 2009 4:12 pm

Is it possible to get the resolution in DPI of PDF page that was created from a Tiff(CCITT4) in order to maintain the resolution when creating the multipage tiff from it? oGdViewer.PdfRenderPageToGdPictureImage(300, I) requires a DPI, but I woul like to use the DPI from the original image in the PDF.

Hi,

Unfortunately a PDF has a fixed resolution of 72 DPI. Retrieving original resolution of embedded image is possible at only one condition: the image must not be stretched within the PDF page. Currently, there is no way using GdPicture.NET to get info about image embedded in PDF. We have plans to introduce this feature in GdPicture.NET 6.5. But in all case, we will not be able to get 100% of success.

With best regards,

Loïc

No problem, I'll just use a static value of 300 dpi, which is what the original scans were done at.

Thanks for the info
