Hi Siram,

This tiff image can't be displayed by GdPicture because it include some bad data. The problem is GdPicture stop tiff parsing when a portion of the decoded data is wrong :(

If you have other images producing wrong displaying I will be happy to get they to facilitate our investigations.

With best regards,

Loïc

I understand Loic. The problem arises when we have the tags 37679,37670 and 37671 which are specific to Microsoft Document Imaging. However, a number of our customers do use Microsoft Document Imaging for scanning documents and then uploading the same. Is there any planned support for these non-standard TIFF tags as Microsoft Document Imaging is still used for scanning?

BTW, is JPEG2000 writing support disabled for multipage tiffs in the ActiveX edition? We are unable to see this option in TiffSaveMultipagetoFile.

After some study of the JPEG and TIFF formats, we believe that support for tags: 37679, 37680 and 37681 can be provided partly. The key are the tags:

JPEGInterchangeFormat
JPEGInterchangeFormatLength

Given these, it would be possible to read the JPEG stream and dump it as a separate JPEG file which can be imported separately using GDPicturePro. Of course, there are many gotchas on the way, but for simple images scanned using Microsoft Document Imaging, it is possible to dump the content in a straightforward manner. Maybe as a nice to have feature for supporting scanning using Microsoft Document Imaging?
