Textbox annotations

Post by bjcam » Wed Sep 14, 2011 1:39 pm

Hi
I am using the annotations plugin and have a couple of questions:
Is there a way of typing directly into the textAnnotation box rather than the user having to use a separate edit box?
How do I change the mouse icon to reflect the tool being used when selected from the toolbar?
Thanks

Hi,

We are studying a way to implement a 100% interactive text-box annotation.
For the mouse icon feature, this is already in our plans for a future release. We will provide way to customize mouse cursor for mouse over and mouse click on annot.

Kind regards,

Loïc

Hi,

Short update:

We found a way to update StickyNote & Text annotation by simple double clicking on the annot. This will be published in 8.2.4.

For the cursor issue, we have to postpone the feature to 8.3.X

Kind regards,

Loïc

Thanks - I have got the new version now and it works great. However, one question - When you double-click on the textbox or sticky you have to click again to start typing. There doesn't seem to be a double-click event of the annotation that I could set the focus in. Is there any way to automatically set the focus so that double-clicking lets you start typing?
Thanks

Hi
The annotations are great and I have been creating an interface to show only the main properties that the standard user would use.
I have found a small bug in the text and sticky annotation - if you change the forecolour of the text and then edit by double-clicking, the text always goes back to black. Once edited it reverts back and displays the correct colour.

Hi
I have another couple of issues with textbox annotations, sticky notes and links:
Many users press save while the annotation is still selected - this loses the changes made. It would be good if I could 'deselect' the annotation first to commit the changes as if the user was clicking in the GdPicture image.
Another issue is that there is an unhandled error in the component if a link, text or sticky is saved with no text. The error showed the stack trace at 'GdPicture.AnnotationRubberStamp.Render(Graphics g)'. I was not using a rubber stamp.
I have got round this issue with some code before saving.
Thanks
