How to use some features in Silverlight

Is it possible to reference some of the dlls in silverlight so I can do some data manipulation on the client side. Say I want to create a PDF file and save/stream it to the database. Or if I want to convert a tiff file stream to a pdf file stream and then save it to the database. I know there is no silverlight viewer, but maybe I can take some of the pressure off the server by doing some data manipulation on the client side.

Do I have to use the AutomationFactory.CreateObject ? So the client computer would have to have GDPicture program installed on their computer? If this is the only way, it would be very hard to get people to install GDPicture.
