Umlaut characters not rendered correctly

When I open the attached file 'Umlaute_Fail.pdf' in the Document Viewer sample application, the Umlaut characters (ä, ö, ü) are not rendered correctly - instead, a / o / u are visible. Choosing "Show page text" shows the plain text, containing umlaut characters. Opening the file in either Acrobat Reader or Google Chrome renders the Umlaut characters as expected.

Using a different file 'Umlaute_OK.pdf', Umlaut characters are displayed as expected.
