Viewing PDF documents, capture link click events
Viewing PDF documents, capture link click events
Hi,
I'm making my first steps with GdViewer, searched the forums, but haven't found a solution.
I have a PDF document with embedded links. The links are clickable, when I open the document with GdViewer.
How can I capture that event and read the link URL?
EDIT: of course, simple MouseClick-Events, etc. work - but I don't know how to get say - link text and destination URL - with that event.
Thank you!

Re: Viewing PDF documents, capture link click events
Hello there,
Currently we do not raise any event to inform that a url will be reached. We will add that for the next minor release that should be published soon.
With best regards,
loïc

Thanks for your reply. Sadly I'm in a hurry (not my fault) and currently evaluating PDF components with the requirement to get a link event, the link URL and (preferred) the text, probably that's not too exotic.Loïc wrote:Hello there,

Is it possible to get a timeframe for the next minor release or a nightly build with that exact feature? It doesn't have to be stable, I just need to provide a showcase within the coming two or three weeks (using that feature).
Thanks!

Sure, it should be between 3 and 10 days. If you need a BETA release with the implemented feature just contact our team through https://www.gdpicture.com/support/getting-support-from-our-teamIs it possible to get a timeframe for the next minor release

Thanks a lot!
I opened a ticket.
Sounds very good.

Re: Viewing PDF documents, capture link click events
I downloaded the beta. Very fast reply, thanks!
Links (in my case regular http:// links) are now displayed as such and are clickable, resulting in the default browser opening the webpage.
Do you know if it's generally possible - with the upcoming minor release - to intercept that link-click-event and not open the default browser, but get the URL and do anything else with that? Haven't found any event handler / any way to achieve that in the beta.
That would be very helpful.

This feature request now works in the latest beta builds. Thanks for the _very_ quick support here!
