Encrypting vs Password

Hello,

So what exactly is the difference pertaining to the pdf?
Usually encrypting requires keys so if encrypting do you have to set a password?
And flip side if you set password are you actually doing the encrypting?

Hi Cramer
Setting a password to PDF can only be done through encryption.
You can encrypt a PDF with a blanc password. The so encrypted Pdf do not ask the password to be opened.
