Determining width of Code 128 barcode

When using the cImaging object to draw a Code 128 barcode, is there any way to determine the width of the barcode? It would be particularly usefull to be able to determine the width before drawing the barcode so the target image may be created to fit the barcode exactly, though it would be acceptable to receive the barcode width after generation and then crop down to size.

(really, this applies to any bar code type)
