SetFormFieldValue not working correctly

Post by acl » Wed Sep 07, 2016 8:58 am

Hi,

we are using SetFormFieldValue to fill in PDF forms automatically (these are social security forms here in Luxemburg).

This works fine for normal text-fields, but some fields don't work. For example this is waht the field looks like if filled using Adobe Reader:
Good.JPG
Screen capture: Form filled through Adobe Reader, looks correctly
This is what it looks like filled using SetFormFieldValue (value: "123456789012345").
bad.JPG
Screen capture: Form filled using SetFormFieldValue
As you can see, the numbers are not filled into the reserved spaces.

I also attached the whole PDF (the one filled using GdPicture SetFormFieldValue).

A second problem is checkboxes inside the form. We used GetFormFieldValue to extract the values of these on a filled out form and then tried to set them on a new form using SetFormFieldValue. No success there either. If you look at the attached PDF in the bottom, there should be one checkbox checked, but none of them are.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

acl

Hi Acl

The SetFormFiledValue function has been fixed some times ago and work as expected in the last version (actually 12.0.0.33)

the SetFormFieldChecked function must be prefered to setup check boxes
see : https://www.gdpicture.com/guides/gdpicture/web ... ecked.html

Hope this help

I have a similar problem.
In the required pdf-taxforms we have to use, there are some calculations and some formatting done after filling in certain fields.

When I use SetFormFieldValue to set those fields, the formatting (or calculation) doesn´t work. Is there a workaround?

Hi gkobelkoff

I am afraid no. This kind of formfields use postscript to compute, GdPicture do not have a postscript interpretor.
Hope this help

in the pdf there are two identically named checkboxes. when we query the value of those checkboxes they return the value that is associated in the form.
but when we try to set the value nothing happens.
what could be the reason for that?
(We are using GdPicture 14)
